Michael Sherman is an immigration lawyer with over thirty years of experience in the field. As the founder of Sherman Immigration, PLLC, he focuses on providing responsive, personalized immigration legal services to healthcare and business professionals. He also assists families with the Green Card and Naturalization processes. Mr. Sherman is currently based in Royal Oak, Michigan, but throughout his career, he has worked with people in all fifty states and countries around the world.

After receiving his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, Mike attended Wayne State Law School, working through the day to support his family and commuting to Detroit to take classes at night. As a law student, Mr. Sherman served as the Chief Court Clerk to the Honorable Steven N. Andrews of the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court in Michigan, and as a Law Clerk for the Office of Legal Affairs at William Beaumont Hospital.

He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the District of Columbia Bar, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and the Oakland County Bar Association. Mr. Sherman received the highest rating of AV Preeminent® from Martindale-Hubbell, the international lawyer rating service. In addition, he was a Flotilla Staff Officer in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary from 2005-2007.

Mr. Sherman has been invited to present on immigration law topics at many organizations, including the Michigan Association for Medical Education, the Southeast Michigan Center for Medical Education, the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and many others. Mike hosts free monthly Zoom meetings covering different facets of US immigration law including visas, employment-based Green Cards, and family-based Green Cards. At the end of each session, Mike takes the time to answer participants’ questions.

At the start of his career, Mr. Sherman took every case he could, often driving to 2 or 3 different county courts every day. He has put in the work for his clients since the beginning, and 30 years later Mike has never lost touch with his roots. Even as the leader of his own successful firm, he takes the same approach he always has, being down to earth, personable, and treating every client like family. Mike’s drive, compassion, and perseverance make him the lawyer he is today.
